SouperSage understands the common ways most ingredients are written in recipes. We also understand the common quantities for ingredients.
However, there are times where we are unsure or interpret the wrong ingredient or quantity.
If an ingredient is red, this means we are not completely sure if the ingredient or amount is correct. We try to offer an intelligent guess, but will need your help to confirm or update:
If it's the correct ingredient and amount, just click the check button.
If it's not the correct ingredient, click the search button to find more similar ingredients. Click the check button next to the best ingredient to update the recipe. Close the search window.
If it's not the correct amount, update the amount of that ingredient by entering the quantity in the number input, and click the check button to approve.
Alternatively, you can click the trash button to remove that ingredient all together. Try to add again it by rephrasing the ingredient. Here are some tips to help us understand you better.
We know the common measurements: tsp, tbsp, cup, pinch, etc. for most ingredients
We always understand weight based measurements: lbs, oz, grams (g), kg for all ingredients
Use the simplest or most common term for each ingredient: "tuna", "white rice"
Avoid brands, adjectives, and additional descriptors, or put them in ()s.
Make sure to save your recipe after any updates to ingredients!
If an ingredient is still not found, it doesn't get lost. We track all unknown ingredients and quantities, so that SouperSage can get smarter over time.
